Job summary

Brunel is seeking an experienced Estimator to lead cost estimation across commercial construction and refurbishment projects in Australia, from tender through handover. You will prepare detailed estimates, BOQs, and tender submissions, review drawings and contracts, and manage subcontractor pricing to drive value.

You will need strong Australian experience in commercial builds up to $10M, with meticulous attention to cost control and collaboration with project teams for successful outcomes.

About This Role

You'll take the lead on estimating across a range of commercial construction and refurbishment projects, working closely with the wider team from tender through to project handover.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing detailed cost estimates, BOQs and tender submissions.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and contract documentation.
• Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier pricing.
• Identifying cost-saving opportunities, risks and potential variations.
• Managing tender processes, budgets and cost plans.
• Working closely with project delivery teams to ensure a smooth handover.
• Building strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and clients.

Requirements

You’ll be an experienced Estimator with a strong commercial understanding and the confidence to manage tenders from start to finish.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

• Previous estimating experience within commercial construction in Australia.
• Experience pricing refurbishment projects valued up to $10M.
• Strong knowledge of construction costs, subcontractor pricing and procurement.
• The ability to interpret drawings, specifications and scopes of work.
• Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness.
• A proactive approach and the ability to work collaboratively with a great team.

Experience across refurbishment, aged care, healthcare, education, government or general commercial construction would be highly regarded.
