Job summary

Marble in Melbourne is seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to manage the end-to-end estimating and tendering for a diverse range of commercial and industrial electrical projects. The role is hands-on, requiring strong technical knowledge, commercial awareness and the ability to drive tenders from enquiry to submission.

You will analyse drawings, prepare detailed estimates, price competitively, review supplier and subcontractor quotes, and collaborate with project teams.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Electrical Estimator or Senior Electrical Estimator in commercial/industrial construction.
• Track record preparing competitive tenders for electrical installation projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical services including power distribution, lighting, switchboards.
• Experience interpreting electrical drawings, specifications and construction documentation.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of labour rates, material costs, supplier pricing and subcontractor packages.
• Experience identifying project risks, variations and value engineering opportunities.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end estimating process from tender reviews to final submissions.

• Complete accurate quantity take-offs and develop competitive project pricing.
• Source, review and negotiate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Identify commercial risks, scope gaps, exclusions and value engineering opportunities.
• Liaise with builders, consultants, clients and internal stakeholders throughout the tendering process.
• Attend tender clarification meetings, site inspections and project reviews as required.
• Prepare tender qualifications, clarifications and supporting documentation.
• Maintain accurate estimating records, pricing databases and supplier information.
• Work closely with Project Managers and delivery teams to ensure effective tender handovers.
• Assist senior management with tender strategies, project feasibility and commercial decision-making.
• Manage multiple tender submissions while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

As Senior Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for managing the complete estimating and tendering process across a diverse range of commercial and industrial electrical projects.

This is a hands‑on position requiring strong technical knowledge, commercial awareness and the ability to independently manage tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission.

Key responsibilities include:

Manage the end‑to‑end estimating process, including tender reviews, cost planning, pricing and final submissions.

Analyse electrical drawings, specifications, schedules and associated tender documentation.

Prepare detailed electrical estimates, including labour, materials, equipment, subcontractor costs and project overheads.

Complete accurate quantity take‑offs and develop competitive project pricing.

Source, review and negotiate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.

Identify commercial risks, scope gaps, exclusions and opportunities for value engineering.

Liaise with builders, consultants, clients and internal stakeholders throughout the tendering process.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator who has a strong understanding of commercial electrical contracting and is confident managing tenders independently.

To be successful, you will ideally have:

Demonstrated experience as an Electrical Estimator or Senior Electrical Estimator within the commercial or industrial construction sector.

A proven track record preparing competitive tenders for electrical installation projects.

Strong technical knowledge of electrical services, including power distribution, lighting, switchboards and associated building services.

Experience interpreting electrical drawings, specifications and construction documentation.

Proficiency with electrical estimating software, Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel.

Strong understanding of labour rates, material costs, supplier pricing and subcontractor packages.
