Job summary

Abergeldie Complex Infrastructure in Queensland is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead the estimating process for major civil infrastructure projects. About Us

Abergeldie is a majority locally owned contractor with 30 years’ industry experience in Australia and New Zealand. We design and deliver projects in the Water, Bridges, Transport, Underground, Energy and Remediation industry sectors. About the Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Estimator to join our Queensland team and play a key role in winning and delivering major civil infrastructure projects.

Will'll lead the estimating process from initial opportunity assessment through to tender submission, developing accurate, competitive and commercially sound bids across a diverse portfolio of civil infrastructure projects.

Working closely with operational, engineering and commercial teams, you'll be responsible for preparing first-principles estimates, engaging with subcontractors and suppliers, identifying project risks and opportunities and contributing to tender strategy development. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on the continued growth of our Queensland business while working on complex and rewarding infrastructure pursuits.

What You'll Bring to the Team

• Significant experience estimating civil infrastructure projects, with particular strength in roads, earthworks, drainage and structures.


• Proven expertise in first-principles estimating and developing accurate, defensible cost estimates.


• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and practical project delivery considerations.


• Experience managing tenders from opportunity identification through to submission.


• Ability to engage effectively with subcontractors, suppliers and key stakeholders to develop competitive pricing strategies.


• Strong capability in risk assessment, value engineering and tender strategy development.


• Commercial acumen with the ability to identify risks, opportunities and drivers of project success.


• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.


• A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
