Job summary

SunWater is hiring a Senior Environmental Business Partner to support Fitzroy Region operations from Rockhampton, Emerald or Biloela. You will partner with leaders to provide expert environmental advice and ensure activities are safe, compliant, and sustainable.

You will drive environmental risk management, regulatory engagement, and capability building across the business, delivering practical solutions and robust environmental performance.

Qualifications

• Degree in environmental discipline is required or equivalent
• 7+ years of experience in environmental management or governance
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain partnerships with leaders and teams to provide expert environmental advice
• Guide on environmental aspects, constraints and risks for activities and projects
• Coach and build environmental capability across the business
• Monitor environmental commitments, licences and permits, ensuring controls are implemented
• Undertake inspections, audits and compliance reviews to verify adherence to legislation and standards
• Ensure Environmental Management System is fit-for-purpose and continuously improved
• Identify emerging environmental risks and drive corrective actions
• Support environmental reporting and data quality for decision making
• Provide input into environmental submissions and negotiations with regulators
• Develop and maintain environmental policies and procedures across operations
