Job summary

Sunwater invites applications for a Senior Environmental Business Partner - South Region, based in Chinchilla, Queensland. This full-time role partners with leaders to provide expert environmental advice, ensuring activities are delivered safely, sustainably and in regulatory compliance.

The role involves risk management, regulatory engagement, and maintaining an effective EMS. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in environmental management, a relevant degree, and strong knowledge of legislation

Qualifications

• 7+ years in environmental management or governance within regulated sectors.
• Degree in environmental discipline or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, approvals frameworks, and EMS.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain partnering relationships with leaders to advise on environmental aspects of Sunwater activities and projects.
• Provide advice on management of complex environmental risks, including incident reporting and follow-up.
• Undertake assurance activities to ensure compliance with environmental approvals, licenses or permits.
• Ensure fit-for-purpose Environmental Management System is implemented, maintained and continuously improved per standards; undertake reviews and audits.
• Provide expert input to negotiations and submissions to State or Commonwealth environmental regulators.
• Develop and maintain current policies and procedures aligned to best practice within an environmental setting, supporting implementation at operational level.
