Job summary

RPS, a Tetra Tech company, is seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist to join the Oceans & Environment team in Perth or Margaret River. The role offers flexibility with full-time/part-time hours and hybrid working arrangements.

You will contribute to environmental approvals, management plans, and client advisory work, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team while developing your technical and consulting capabilities.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in environmental management or science.
• Experience undertaking environmental impact assessments in WA.
• Understanding of State and Commonwealth environmental legislation and guidance.
• Strong technical report writing and attention to detail.
• Minimum five years relevant work experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and seek guidance when needed.
• Understanding of project delivery including quality, safety, time and budget.
• Commitment to ongoing professional and technical development.

Responsibilities

• Prepare environmental approval documentation under the EP Act and EPBC Act.
• Prepare practical environmental management plans and strategies.
• Prepare and provide environmental advice to clients.
• Manage multiple tasks on a range of projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Communicate and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
