Job summary

Lightsource bp is seeking a Principal Environmental Planner to lead all planning aspects of renewable energy projects in our in-house Planning Team. You will oversee site selection, planning application preparation, local authority liaison, stakeholder engagement and post‑construction work across Australia and New Zealand.

Collaborate closely with business development, design, construction, asset management and structured finance, and become part of our wider global environmental planning

Qualifications

Comprehensive knowledge of Australian federal, state and local planning systems.
7+ years planning experience, in-house or consultancy.
Strong interpersonal, stakeholder management and communication skills.
Experience in ground mount solar PV, wind or other renewables incl. BESS.
Understanding of the project development life cycle from early stage to COD.

Responsibilities

Lead planning aspects across a project lifecycle from site selection to COD.
Prepare planning applications and liaise with local authorities.
Engage stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Support in-house planning team within Lightsource bp.
