Job summary

BMD Group is seeking an Environmental Manager to provide senior environmental leadership for major infrastructure projects in Adelaide, South Australia. The role requires embedding environmental requirements into construction delivery while ensuring compliance, monitoring and stakeholder relationships are effectively managed.

You will work closely with project and construction leaders to integrate environmental obligations, manage approvals, audits and reporting, and provide practical guidance

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Engineering or similar.
• Significant environmental experience across major infrastructure.
• Tier 1 or Tier 2 civil construction experience in Australia.
• Strong knowledge of environmental compliance and legislation.
• Environmental management plan and assurance experience.
• Confidence engaging with construction teams, clients and regulators.
• Strong practical and technical environmental judgement.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental management across major infrastructure delivery.
• Develop and implement project environmental management requirements.
• Coordinate relevant environmental approvals and permits.
• Lead environmental monitoring, inspections and audits.
• Provide practical advice to construction teams.
• Manage incidents, NCRs and corrective actions.
• Engage with clients, regulators and stakeholders.
• Lead environmental training and awareness.
• Monitor environmental risks and emerging requirements.
• Lead and develop environmental personnel where applicable.
