Job summary

Western Power in Perth CBD is seeking a Senior Environmental Assessment and Approvals Specialist to lead the development of strategic network plans and asset strategies while ensuring SHE requirements are integrated into work programs.

You will influence external stakeholders to secure statutory approvals for growth and protection of the network, mentor teams, and provide expert advice on environment, heritage and planning matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, planning, law, or related discipline.
• Solid experience in environment, heritage and statutory planning approvals.
• Experience in public and environmental safety matters and risk-reduction strategies.
• Proven ability to influence internal and external stakeholders on SEQT outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Identify environmental, planning and heritage constraints to inform project design and delivery.
• Provide timely environmental advice including approvals, strategy and risk.
• Influence development of strategic network plans and asset strategies for SHE outcomes.
• Lead and support development and implementation of SHE requirements for access to the network.
• Develop and manage relationships with external planning and infrastructure stakeholders.
• Monitor and implement improvements to SHE requirements via closed-loop processes.
• Provide SME advice on environment, heritage and urban planning to SHE/SP&A functions.
• Represent the SHE or SP&A function at internal and external engagement and training sessions.
