Job summary

Glencore’s Newlands Closure project seeks an experienced Environment & Community Manager to lead environmental, approvals and community engagement during rehabilitation and closure. You’ll work with site leadership to deliver compliant, responsible outcomes and drive continuous improvement.

You’ll unify regulatory, stakeholder and technical teams, manage budgets, and shape long-term land-use and relinquishment objectives across the site.

Qualifications

• Senior environmental leadership experience in mining or regulated industries.
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and approvals.
• Experience managing budgets, consultants and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible leadership across the Environment & Community function.
• Lead environmental management, compliance programs and approvals.
• Oversee monitoring, reporting, audits and assurance activities.
• Engage regulators and coordinate environmental reporting.
• Manage community engagement and stakeholder relationships.
• Contribute to closure planning and relinquishment objectives.
