Job summary

Lake Macquarie City Council invites an experienced Senior Engineering Surveyor to lead cadastral, engineering and topographic surveying across Lake Macquarie and nearby regions. You will provide leadership, guidance and technical expertise to the Survey team while ensuring high-quality outcomes.

You will work with internal stakeholders, external clients and authorities to deliver projects safely, efficiently and to professional standards.

Qualifications

• Extensive surveying experience including cadastral property surveys.
• Demonstrated experience using modern surveying equipment.
• Proven proficiency with surveying software such as Magnet and AutoCAD.
• Experience preparing cost and time estimates for complex cadastral projects.
• Proven leadership experience managing staff and contractors.
• Ability to analyse survey data and undertake complex calculations.
• Experience preparing Deposited Plans per NSW Registrar General requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Class C driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver cadastral, engineering and topographic surveying projects.
• Provide technical leadership, guidance and mentoring to survey staff.
• Undertake survey fieldwork and office-based calculations, analysis and plan preparation.
• Manage stakeholder consultation with internal and external partners.
• Review survey data, calculations and deliverables for quality outcomes.
• Contribute to successful delivery of Council's construction and property programs.
• Maintain knowledge of emerging surveying technologies, equipment and software.
• Support procurement activities and project delivery processes within City Projects.
