Job summary

Novus Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for a global SaaS business in Sydney. This true player-coach role reports to the CTO and leads a team of 10, while remaining hands-on in code.

You'll split your week 40-50% building and 50-60% leading, shaping AI-driven SDLC, roadmaps and quarterly goals. Collaboration with Product, Customer Success and Sales will be essential, with a hybrid 2-days-in-office arrangement.

Qualifications

• Several years leading engineers in SaaS or enterprise environments.
• Hands-on coding experience with .NET and modern frontend.
• Strong people management across multiple time zones.
• Clear communication with engineers and executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineers, QA Lead, and Engineering Team Lead, own growth and hiring.
• Coach Team Lead to full ownership.
• Stay hands-on across the .NET backend and React frontend.
• Own roadmap commitments and quarterly goals.
• Drive AI-driven SDLC with guardrails and measure impact on cycle time, release frequency, and quality.
• Collaborate with Product, Customer Success and Sales on what can be promised.
