Job summary

DXC Technology in Melbourne is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead an AI-first, cloud-native platform that powers managed services for global enterprises. This hands-on leadership role requires steering the engineering team, guiding architecture and delivery, and shipping production-ready code.

You will mentor 5–10 engineers, partner with the Technical Project Manager on sprint planning, and own engineering execution quality, reliability, security and post-mortems in a fast-paced SaaS

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience and 3+ years leading teams.
• Deep knowledge of microservices, cloud-native patterns and API-first development.
• Strong experience with Python, GraphQL, REST APIs and SQL.
• Proficient with CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, IaC and DevSecOps practices.
• Production AWS experience in multi-tenant SaaS environments.
• Agile delivery, sprint planning and Jira proficiency.
• Excellent communication and leadership for a hands-on engineering lead.

Responsibilities

• Translate vision into shipped, production-ready code.
• Lead a team of 5-10 engineers with 1:1s and growth plans.
• Do hands-on code reviews and debugging within architectural guardrails.
• Mentor engineers to grow from junior to senior levels.
• Partner with the TPM on sprint planning, capacity, estimates and delivery.
• Own engineering execution quality, testing, observability and readiness.
• Make architectural decisions and drive platform reliability and incident response.
