Job summary

hipages is a leading ASX-listed platform connecting households with home improvement professionals. As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead a portfolio of software teams, guiding Engineering Managers and Tech Leads to deliver high-quality systems at scale.

You will shape technical direction, partner with Product and Design, and advance AI-native engineering practices to improve throughput and outcomes across multiple squads.

Qualifications

• 6+ years' experience in engineering leadership, including at least 3 years leading multiple teams.
• Strong technical foundation and ability to challenge architectural decisions.
• Proven track record developing Engineering Managers.
• You understand AI-augmented engineering and its impact on team structure and delivery.
• You drive outcomes and agile practices at scale across several teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead through Engineering Managers and Tech Leads, coaching them as leaders and holding them accountable for team health and delivery.
• Own technical and architectural direction across your domain, ensuring designs align with standards.
• Set the engineering quality bar across CI/CD, testing, observability, security, incident response, and operational health.
• Partner with senior Product and Design to shape domain strategy and prioritise work with customer impact.
• Own end-to-end delivery across multiple teams and maintain a clear technical roadmap.
• Lead AI-forward ways of working, shaping team structure and opportunities for AI-enabled delivery.
