Job summary

Glencore’s Ravensworth Operations in the Hunter Valley NSW seeks an experienced Senior Engineer, Technical Services, reporting to the Technical Services Manager, to lead safety, quality and continuous improvement across geotechnical design, data capture and coal flow processes.

You will coordinate geotechnical design, monitoring, modelling and compliance; oversee geological data capture and coal flow integration; and work closely with a small team to deliver reliable, sustainable mine

Qualifications

• Strong leadership skills with a proactive safety mindset.
• Proactive attitude to safety and strong problem-solving skills.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications (mining, geotechnical, geological, civil or survey).
• 5 yrs experience in an open-cut coal environment with exposure to Geotechnical and/or Geological process such as data capture, modelling, analysis, design, scheduling, compliance and coal recovery.
• Prior use of Vulcan, Deswik, and MinVu systems is preferred.

Ravensworth Operations comprises of Ravensworth Open Cut and the Coal Handling Preparation Plant that provides high quality coal for the export market. The operation has approval to mine over 14Mtpa, with a long life of mine. The Role

An opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Engineer, who is self-motivated and committed to developing a culture motivated by safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will be primarily responsible for:

• Coordination of the sites Geotechnical design, monitoring and compliance process
• Coordination of the sites Geological data capture, modelling, monitoring and compliance process
• Coordination of the sites Coal flow process

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Strong leadership skills complimented with a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely in a small team
• Proactive attitude to safety and strong problem-solving skills
• Relevant tertiary qualifications (mining, geotechnical, geological, civil or survey)
