Job summary

Amazon Leo is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to contribute to the satellite communications software stack for the Leo constellation. You will develop embedded software, test frameworks, and 3GPP 5G NTN/Open RAN based networking and management functions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure low-latency, high-reliability payload connectivity.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 7+ years of embedded firmware development experience.
• Experience writing low level drivers and working in a Linux/Unix environment.
• Experience with 3GPP 5G/ Open RAN or related protocols.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software for satellites and ground systems relating to the operation, validation, and management of a 3GPP 5G networking stack.
• Participate in all phases of SDLC including requirements gathering, design, code, test, and code/test coverage.
• Develop embedded software modules in assembly, C, C++, Rust or other languages operating against 3GPP 5G/ O-RAN defined protocols and interfaces.
• Have experience with real-time embedded software development and robust design practices.
• Review schematics, logic analyzer data, wireless signal and protocol analysis, and embedded software troubleshooting techniques.
