Job summary

Amazon Leo for Government seeks a Device Software Development Engineer to design and develop embedded software for satellite and ground systems, with a focus on fault-tolerant, real-time platforms. You will collaborate with hardware, systems, and product teams to deliver secure, high-performance solutions.

This role is based in Northridge, CA, Arlington, VA, or Redmond, WA with relocation benefits and onsite work five days a week.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming experience in at least one language.
• 5+ years leading design/architecture of systems.
• Experience mentoring, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize embedded software for satellite and ground terminals.
• Leverage Embedded Linux/RTOS frameworks to build scalable, modular software.
• Implement and integrate software for data processing, device control, and networking protocols.
• Debug hardware-software integration issues using analytical tools.
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct design reviews, and uphold software quality.
