Job summary

Wabtec is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to join the LOCOTROL SW Team. You will design, develop, integrate, test, demonstrate and maintain embedded software for Freight Locomotive control across LOCOTROL products, primarily using C/C++ on diverse embedded platforms.

You will collaborate with PMs, System Engineers, Architects and test teams, mentor junior engineers, and ensure software meets safety and industry standards. Relocation support and benefits available.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, CS or related field.
8+ years embedded software development in RTOS and bare metal.
C/C++ with multi-process/multi-threading experience.
Strong understanding of software design, architecture, data structures & algorithms.
Willing to travel 10% of time.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, integrate, test, demonstrate and maintain embedded software for locomotives.
Program in C/C++ across multiple embedded platforms.
Provide mentoring to junior engineers as needed.
Collaborate with PMs, system engineers and test teams to meet requirements.
Design, implement and test software ensuring quality and reliability.
Participate in design and code reviews; drive performance improvements.
