Job summary

MPAU Technology in Melbourne’s Hawthorn East is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and support RTU software for water automation and control systems. You will own end-to-end software solutions and mentor engineers.

You will apply embedded C and Python on ARM-based platforms, work with Linux and real-time environments, and use Modbus/TCP and other industrial protocols in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong C and Python programming expertise.
• Embedded software development on ARM-based platforms.
• Experience with Linux/POSIX and real-time environments.
• Knowledge of Modbus and serial protocols (RS232/RS485).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, maintain, and support RTU software solutions.
• Analyse customer requirements and translate into technical solutions.
• Participate in software planning, architecture, design reviews, and code reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing across the team.
