Job summary

SMEC in Brisbane is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the rail team. You will design and deliver LV/HV, earthing and bonding solutions for local and national rail projects.

You will produce drawings, reports and tender documents from concept through construction, conduct feasibility studies and load calculations, and review designs to meet Australian codes and SMEC standards. Qualifications

• 6+ years’ industry experience in electrical engineering.
• Experience preparing detailed electrical design documentation across rail and other transport infrastructure projects.
• Must have strong understanding of Australian codes and standards, safety assurance and system engineering processes.
• RPEQ registration or actively progress towards registration.

Responsibilities

• Design and delivery of low voltage, high voltage, earthing and bonding engineering services for various rail projects.
• Production of engineering drawings, reports, specifications and tender packages from preliminary through to construction.
• Conduct feasibility studies, load calculations and site inspections.
• Reviewing electrical designs to meet appropriate technical standards and client/SMEC requirements.
• Production of engineering reports and supporting tender proposals.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure quality, timeliness and coordination of project deliverables.
