Job summary

Minecon Recruitment is partnering with an established electrical contractor to appoint a Senior Electrical Engineer (RPEQ) to lead in-house engineering and design capability. The role is hands-on, delivering electrical building services designs from concept to commissioning.

You will mentor a small team, ensure designs meet Australian Standards and the NCC, use PowerCAD and DIALux, and contribute to growing the in-house consultancy with external client projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering and current RPEQ registration.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver electrical building services designs from concept through to detailed design, construction support and commissioning.
• Undertake hands-on electrical design using PowerCAD, DIALux and other relevant design software.
• Design LV and MV power distribution, lighting, communications, standby power, UPS and associated electrical systems.
• Prepare and review calculations, specifications, drawings and technical documentation.
• Review, verify and certify electrical engineering designs in accordance with RPEQ requirements.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring and support to 1–2 engineers and designers.
• Work closely with project delivery teams, clients and other stakeholders to ensure designs are practical, compliant and buildable.
• Support the development of internal engineering processes, design standards and technical capabilities.
• Contribute to the growth of the business's in-house engineering consultancy.
