Job summary

Actemium Water Infrastructure in Queensland seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer - Control Systems to lead design, development and delivery of industrial control systems for water and wastewater projects.

You'll provide technical leadership across PLC, SCADA, HMI and telemetry, mentor engineers, and ensure compliance with standards from concept to commissioning, working with clients and partners in VINCI Energies network.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience delivering electrical, automation and control systems projects within water, utilities, infrastructure or industrial sectors.

Senior Electrical Engineer - Control Systems

Actemium, part of the global VINCI Energies network, is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer - Control Systems to join our growing Water Infrastructure team.

This is an opportunity to take a leading role in the delivery of critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Queensland, working alongside a highly capable team of engineers, project managers and automation specialists.

From treatment plants and pump stations to telemetry networks and digital water solutions, you'll help deliver innovative control systems that support essential services and create lasting impact for communities.

As a senior member of the team, you'll provide technical leadership through the full project lifecycle, from concept and design through to commissioning and client handover.

What You'll Be Doing

Lead the design, development and delivery of industrial control systems for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Develop and commission PLC, SCADA, HMI, telemetry and industrial communications systems.

Prepare and review technical documentation including control philosophies, functional design specifications and network architectures.

Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers and technical specialists.

Support project delivery teams throughout design, procurement, testing and commissioning phases.

What You'll Bring

A degree qualification in Electrical, Mechatronics or a related Engineering discipline.

6+ years' experience delivering electrical, automation and control systems projects within the water, utilities, infrastructure or industrial sectors.

Strong experience across PLC, SCADA, HMI and telemetry systems, including Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider and AVEVA System Platform. Experience with Motorola telemetry and communications systems will be highly regarded.

Demonstrated ability to lead project delivery in a fast-paced environment, with strong technical, commercial and commissioning awareness.

Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence project outcomes.

Sound understanding of water industry standards, specifications and regulatory requirements.

A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work autonomously, mentor others and drive successful project outcomes.

Additional Skills That Will Set You Apart

RPEQ registration, or eligibility and willingness to obtain.

Experience delivering water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Exposure to major automation platforms including Schneider Electric, Rockwell, Siemens, ABB, AVEVA and Ignition.

Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.
