Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to join the Buildings & Places team in Brisbane. You will lead technically demanding electrical building services projects, mentor engineers and influence project outcomes across healthcare, data centres, defence and other sectors.

The role emphasizes senior technical leadership, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and growth of the Buildings & Places business, with a flexible hybrid working policy in Australia.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in consulting engineering with a strong background in electrical engineering and building services.
• Recognised expertise in sectors such as healthcare, data centres, defence, life sciences, transport or complex buildings.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical delivery on major multidisciplinary projects.
• Registered or chartered engineer (or working towards).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across major building services and infrastructure projects.
• Lead the development and review of complex electrical engineering designs and technical solutions.
• Act as a subject matter expert for clients, project teams and stakeholders.
• Support project delivery on technically challenging projects across multiple sectors.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex engineering challenges.
• Mentor and develop engineers at all career stages to build technical capability.
• Support project pursuits and client engagement for growth initiatives.
• Build strong relationships with clients, contractors and industry partners.
• Contribute to technical innovation and continuous improvement across the business.
