Job summary

Long Energy and Resources (Aust) Pty Ltd – Brisbane is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Brisbane team and contribute to a diverse portfolio across Oil and Gas, New Energy, Pipelines and BioGas.

You will develop and deliver high-quality electrical designs, specifications and technical solutions that meet client requirements and regulatory standards, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating across disciplines to ensure safe, effective project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5–15 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
• Experience delivering electrical designs and technical documentation in consultancy, EPCM or project delivery environments.
• Understanding of electrical engineering standards and regulatory requirements.

In this role, you will apply your electrical engineering expertise to develop and deliver high-quality designs, specifications and technical solutions that meet client requirements, project objectives and applicable regulatory standards. You will bring a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and discipline-specific challenges, with the ability to conceptualise design requirements and translate them into practical, fit-for-purpose solutions.

Working across all phases of project delivery, from concept development and detailed design through to procurement, construction, commissioning and asset optimisation, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, effective and high-quality engineering outcomes. You will also contribute to the development of junior engineers through mentoring, technical guidance and knowledge sharing.

Key Responsibilities

Senior Electrical Engineer
Location: Brisbane, QLD

• Develop and deliver electrical engineering designs, specifications, calculations and technical solutions in accordance with project requirements, relevant standards and regulatory obligations.
• Contribute to projects across Long Energy's Oil and Gas, New Energy, Pipelines and BioGas portfolios.
• Provide electrical engineering expertise throughout the project lifecycle, including concept development, detailed design, procurement support, construction, commissioning and asset optimisation.
• Interpret client and project requirements, identify electrical discipline issues and conceptualise appropriate design solutions.
• Prepare and review technical documentation to ensure engineering deliverables meet required standards for quality, accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, contractors and other stakeholders to achieve project objectives relating to scope, cost, schedule and quality.
• Provide technical input and engineering support to resolve design challenges and address project requirements.
• Assist in mentoring and developing junior engineers through technical guidance, knowledge sharing and review of engineering deliverables.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in engineering practices, design quality and project delivery.

About You

You are an experienced Electrical Engineer with strong technical capability, sound engineering judgement and a practical approach to solving complex engineering challenges. You can conceptualise design requirements, develop effective technical solutions and work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• Approximately 5–15 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
• Experience delivering electrical engineering designs, specifications and technical documentation within an engineering consultancy, EPCM or project delivery environment.
• A clear understanding of electrical engineering principles, discipline-specific issues and design requirements.
• The ability to interpret technical requirements and develop fit-for-purpose engineering solutions.
• An understanding of relevant engineering standards, codes and regulatory requirements.
• Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes within project timeframes.
• An interest in mentoring junior engineers and contributing to a positive, collaborative team environment.

Experience across energy, resources, Oil and Gas, pipelines or related industries would be highly regarded.
