Job summary

Evoenergy is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Officer to join the Secondary Systems and Network Design team in Canberra, ACT. You will design and replace assets, focusing on lifecycle costs and end-of-life considerations, while delivering PoW design solutions and coordinating with stakeholders across government agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher in Electrical Engineering and eligible for professional practice.
• Experience in asset-intensive industries and in design of complex electricity distribution projects.
• Understanding of regulatory environments relating to electricity distribution or similar regulated sectors.
• Demonstrated advanced problem-solving capabilities in electrical design tasks.
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with internal/external stakeholders including government agencies.
• Experience with desktop applications (Microsoft Office) and asset/project/works management systems; familiarity with financial systems.
• ACT Class C driver’s license or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Analyze asset management and operational needs to determine project scope.
• Conduct site visits with stakeholders and prepare project cost estimates.
• Lead Safety in Design principles in project delivery.
• Order materials aligned with standards for proposed designs.
• Design complex distribution projects including substations, switchyards, and networks.
• Perform calculations for network analysis, earthing studies, and LV/droppage calculations.
• Engage stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes and customer experience.
• Communicate capabilities and responsibilities across project teams.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements throughout execution.
