Job summary

The Department of Education in Victoria seeks a Manager for Major Projects to deliver education infrastructure across the full project lifecycle, coordinating consultants, contractors and external stakeholders.

You will lead a high-performing team, manage budgets and risks, develop business cases, and report to senior leaders and Ministers within the Victorian School Building Authority.

Qualifications

• Experience across the full development project lifecycle coordinating consultants, contractors and external stakeholders.
• Strong project management skills and knowledge of public sector infrastructure funding and delivery systems.
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of execution across the project lifecycle from feasibility through to tendering and close, ensuring milestones and targets are met.
• Prepare project feasibility information, budgets and business cases.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams on planning, design, legal and communications.
• Establish and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders to manage risks and resolve issues.
• Provide clear reports on project planning, delivery status, benefits and outcomes for Ministers, the Secretary and project teams.
• Develop insights into strategies and investment prioritisation.
• Lead and manage a team to deliver credible, well-evidenced advice and outcomes.
