Job summary

Reqiva is partnering with a well-funded Australian Edge AI start-up in Melbourne to hire a Senior Computer Vision Engineer for a key early role in its engineering team. You will advance perception pipelines from research to real-time edge deployment on devices like NVIDIA Jetson, balancing accuracy, latency, and power.

You will work on integrating perception into the onboard autonomy stack (ROS 2) and test in real-world flight conditions, shaping architecture and engineering culture as the team

Qualifications

• Real-time computer vision experience in edge deployments.
• Experience with object detection, tracking, segmentation, or multi-camera perception.
• Hands-on deployment of models to edge devices (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson).
• Model optimization for the edge (TensorRT, ONNX, quantisation, pruning, profiling).
• Strong Python and C++, with PyTorch and OpenCV.

Responsibilities

• Design and build real-time perception pipelines for autonomous platforms (detection, tracking, segmentation).
• Deploy and optimise models on embedded edge hardware (Jetson) balancing accuracy, latency and power.
• Integrate perception into the onboard autonomy stack (ROS 2) so drones can share and act on what they see.
• Work with robotics/field teams to test, validate and improve perception in real-world flight conditions.
• Help shape the perception architecture, tooling and engineering culture as the team grows.
