Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Drainage Engineer to join our North Queensland team in Rockhampton or Mackay. You will lead drainage design, hydraulic modelling and stormwater management for major infrastructure projects, delivering practical, compliant solutions across client engagements.

You will apply 12D, TUFLOW and other hydraulic tools, mentor engineers, review designs, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to win work while aligning with Australian standards.

Qualifications

• Around 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience in planning, hydraulic assessment and design of stormwater and drainage networks.
• Confident use of 12D, Drains, TUFLOw, HEC-RAS, MUSIC and RORB or similar hydraulic modelling tools.
• Experience delivering major infrastructure projects within a consulting environment.

Responsibilities

• Technical delivery of drainage designs, stormwater management plans, and hydraulic assessments for major infrastructure projects.
• Providing expert input into hydrologic and hydraulic analysis using 12D, TUFLOW and DRAINS.
• Developing practical and innovative solutions to drainage, flooding, and water quality challenges.
• Reviewing and approving engineering designs, models, and documentation for quality and compliance.
• Mentoring and guiding engineers, and supporting project teams to win work.
