Job summary

Charterhouse Partnership is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a collaborative engineering team in Sydney. You will design, develop and maintain distributed systems and internal platforms spanning cloud and on‑prem environments.

You will contribute to system architecture, drive automation, and build reliable, observable services while working with cross‑functional stakeholders in a dynamic, technically focused environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong development experience with Python, Golang or C++.
• Experience across cloud and on‑premise environments.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems.
• Experience with relational databases.
• Experience with containers and container orchestration.
• Strong understanding of reliability, monitoring and observability.
• Experience with CI/CD, automation and modern software development practices.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain applications, services and APIs.
• Build internal tools and web-based applications.
• Develop automation and engineering solutions across cloud and on‑premise environments.
• Work alongside infrastructure and platform teams to improve development and deployment processes.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment solutions.
• Develop reliable, scalable and observable systems.
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to system architecture, technical design and engineering standards.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and contribute to continuous improvement.
