Job summary

Trideca in Melbourne is seeking experienced DevSecOps specialists to deploy and expand an enterprise service mesh on GCP, configuring API security and cross-cluster communication. You will help delivery teams adopt the platform and meet a tiered set of API security standards.

You will identify gaps in API/microservice security and help implement improvements with security, platform and delivery teams to ensure compliant deployments.

Trideca is partnering with a leading Australian financial services organisation on a major uplift of its internal application security. The program centres on the rollout of a new enterprise service mesh that will strengthen security and give the organisation greater control over how its internal applications communicate. We are looking for experienced DevSecOps specialists who can get moving quickly and help drive the rollout across the client's GCP environment.

The Role

You will help deploy and expand the service mesh across GCP clusters, building and configuring security policies for APIs and for communication between applications. A core part of the role is helping delivery teams adopt the platform and meet a tiered set of API security standards. Along the way you will identify gaps in API and microservice security compliance. You will work closely with security, platform and delivery teams to put improvements in place, support the creation and rollout of a registry of APIs and microservices, and contribute to policy enforcement that may ultimately stop systems that fall short of those standards from being deployed.

About You

• You bring a strong DevSecOps background and experience at a senior level with cloud platforms, ideally GCP.
• You have practical experience deploying and operating enterprise service mesh platforms such as Istio across multiple clusters.
• You have designed, implemented or managed API security policies and are comfortable working across microservices, APIs and distributed systems.
• You work independently in complex enterprise environments and communicate clearly, consulting across multiple delivery teams and explaining technical requirements in a way that turns them into practical outcomes.
• It would be highly regarded if you also have experience with Envoy or with replacing or migrating an existing service mesh, exposure to API discovery or monitoring tools such as Traceable, and familiarity with eBPF agents, Kong, CI/CD pipelines and policy as code. Experience in financial services, or with security compliance standards and uplift programs, would also be valued.
