Orkes is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to automate and integrate complex systems within a secure federal government program. The role focuses on IaC, configuration management and large-scale platform automation, leveraging Terraform, Puppet and Linux administration.

You will contribute to CI/CD, system integration, and documentation while working in a security-focused, Agile environment. Hybrid work arrangements and a long-term, contract-based opportunity are offered.

Formación

• Strong experience with AWS cloud services.
• Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines using enterprise toolsets.
• Hands-on experience with Git-based source control platforms.
• Expertise in Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code technologies.
• Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes environments.
• Strong scripting or development capability using Python, JavaScript, or Go.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Senior DevOps Engineer

About the Role

A high‑profile Federal Government program is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support the automation, configuration, and integration of systems within a secure and complex technical environment. This is a 12 months contract with options to extend for further 12 months!

You will contribute to the development, deployment, and sustainment of critical infrastructure capabilities, with a strong focus on Infrastructure-as-Code, configuration management, and systems integration. The role suits someone who thrives in structured, security‑focused environments and enjoys optimising automated solutions across large‑scale platforms.

• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform and Puppet.
• Support, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines, including performance troubleshooting.
• Apply strong Linux system administration skills to improve reliability and automation.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment of environments and services.
• Maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Plan, automate, test, and deploy database environments using pipeline‑based workflows.

Technical Skills & Experience

• Strong experience with Puppet and Terraform for configuration management and IaC.
• Proficiency in Linux administration and troubleshooting.
• Capability in supporting and enhancing CI/CD toolsets (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Experience in systems integration, build processes, and testing of integration environments.
• Understanding of configuration management principles and documentation standards.

Required Experience

• Knowledge of modern DevSecOps practices and cloud security controls.
• Experience within large enterprise or government environments.
