Job summary

Westpac Group is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join the WIB Intelligence Layer & Data Platforms team. You’ll shape a Snowflake-based, secure and scalable data platform across Azure and AWS, and enable analytics, AI/ML, and API-driven pipelines for complex institutional banking challenges.

The role focuses on designing multi-tenant Snowflake structures, building secure data pipelines, and delivering cost-aware, governed cloud solutions with strong collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Cloud and DevOps Engineering experience.
• Strong CI/CD, automation and production-grade platform engineering experience.
• Experience with data lakes, big data and secure data integration patterns.
• Multi-cloud capability across AWS, Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join the WIB Intelligence Layer & Data Platforms engineering team. Bring your cloud, automation and data-platform expertise to complex institutional banking challenges while helping shape a secure, scalable Snowflake platform across Microsoft Azure and AWS.

How you will make an impact

• Design multi-tenant Snowflake account structures, including Dev, Test and Production segmentation, role-based access control, cost controls and reporting.
• Develop secure, scalable integration patterns and data pipelines across Azure, AWS and enterprise platforms.
• Build and operationalise a Snowflake-based intelligence layer supporting analytics, AI/ML and LLM service integration.
• Monitor platform performance, apply cost-control strategies and uphold security and governance standards.
• Enable reliable pipelines and APIs connecting key enterprise platforms and downstream systems.

What you will bring
