Job summary

Westpac is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join the WIB Intelligence Layer & Data Platforms team. The role designs a secure, scalable Snowflake-based intelligence layer across Azure and AWS, delivering multi-tenant architectures and robust data pipelines.

You will drive CI/CD, automation and production-grade platform engineering for complex banking workloads, balancing performance, security and cost while collaborating across enterprise platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Cloud and DevOps Engineering experience.
• Strong CI/CD, automation and production-grade platform engineering experience.
• Experience with data lakes, big data and secure data integration patterns.
• Multi-cloud capability across AWS, Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills.
• Commercial acumen and a practical approach to balancing performance, security and cost.

Responsibilities

• Design multi-tenant Snowflake account structures with segmentation, RBAC, cost controls and reporting.
• Develop secure, scalable integration patterns and data pipelines across Azure, AWS and enterprise platforms.
• Build and operationalise a Snowflake-based intelligence layer supporting analytics, AI/ML and LLM service integration.
• Monitor platform performance, apply cost-control strategies and uphold security and governance standards.
• Enable reliable pipelines and APIs connecting key enterprise platforms and downstream systems.
