Job summary

Reserve Bank of Australia in Sydney is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join the Platform Engineering team in IT, responsible for supporting DevOps services across the Bank. The role focuses on scalable hybrid infrastructure spanning on‑prem VMware and Microsoft Azure, with emphasis on security, automation and platform stability.

Essential experience includes 4+ years in platform engineering or DevOps, strong Azure and Terraform expertise, and a track record with CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ experience in platform engineering, SRE, or DevOps in large-scale production.
• Proven Azure experience and strong infrastructure knowledge.
• Experience with Azure DevOps Services, Maven, Artifactory or similar tools.
• Strong Terraform usage in live production environments.
• Solid Linux and Windows Server administration skills.
• Experience with CI/CD and release pipelines.
• Knowledge of Puppet or similar config management tools.
• Understanding of secure coding and DevSecOps.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and evolve scalable hybrid infrastructure architectures (on-prem VMware, Azure).
• Advance software-defined infrastructure for efficiency, security and stability.
• Define and manage compute, networking, and cloud resources via IaC (Terraform).
• Analyze and design new platform solutions aligned with IT standards.
• Evaluate emerging technologies delivering clear business value.
