Job summary

CreditorWatch is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer to own platform components end-to-end. You will drive cloud cost efficiency, reliability metrics, and AI-assisted tooling across a large AWS environment. This is a senior individual contributor role with the Head of DevOps overseeing the function and a hybrid Sydney CBD office base.

You will lead production systems, implement self-service development tooling, and contribute to an observability-first culture with strong security practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps/Platform/SRE/Cloud Engineering with senior ownership of production systems.
• Deep AWS expertise across ECS/Fargate, RDS/Aurora, Lambda, IAM, VPC, S3, CloudWatch, API Gateway.
• Terraform at production scale with multi-environment and code-review discipline.
• CI/CD with GitHub Actions including reusable workflows and OIDC-based cloud authentication.
• Containers and Docker for production-grade workloads.
• Observability tooling like Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana with SLOs.

Responsibilities

• Drive cost efficiency across a multi-account AWS environment with dashboards, budgets, and savings plans.
• Retire end-of-life runtimes, simplify infra, and implement guardrails with SCP tagging.
• Govern AI spend with attribution and budgets.
• Extend SLO coverage and manage monitors as code in Terraform.
• Improve incident response with actionable error budgets and MTTR/MTTD metrics.
• Run disaster-recovery drills and maintain recovery objectives.
• Expand reusable CI/CD workflows and self-service developer platforms.
• Build a production API Gateway and secure secret management using AWS Secrets Manager.
• Apply agentic AI to IaC authoring and incident RCA with human-in-the-loop.
