Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking a Senior Cloud / DevOps Engineer in Canberra to lead cloud development, automation and support across Azure environments. The role requires NV1 security clearance and hands-on experience with cloud implementations, IaC and Java apps in Linux.

You will collaborate with development, operations and stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable and secure cloud solutions. Onsite work at the client premises in Canberra is required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with cloud implementations.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure PROTECTED cloud environments.
• Experience with Elasticsearch.
• Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell.
• Experience creating automated deployments.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, including Ansible and ARM.
• Canberra-based; full-time on client premises.
• AGSVA NV1 security clearance.

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Cloud / DevOps Engineer to join our team in Canberra

Current NV1 AGSVA Security Clearance required

You’ll be part of a cohesive team dedicated to one particular client, supporting a System of National Significance (SoNS) . The role offers the opportunity to work across cloud engineering, infrastructure automation and application support, while collaborating closely with development, operations and other stakeholders.

What you’ll do

• Undertake performance tuning and contribute to operational improvements.
• Participate in complex technical design and provide practical design input.
• Take ownership of relevant technologies within your area of specialisation.
• Investigate complex issues and elevate unresolved problems to the Technical Lead or appropriate third parties.
• Produce reports, proposals and maintain clear project documentation.
• Mentor and coach engineers, encouraging knowledge sharing, skills development and the adoption of effective engineering practices.
• Work directly with the client onsite to understand and address complex solution requirements

Essential criteria

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• Demonstrated practical experience and understanding of cloud implementations.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure PROTECTED cloud environments.
• Experience with Elasticsearch.
• Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell.
• Experience troubleshooting Java applications in a Linux environment, or Java development experience.
• Experience creating and maintaining automated deployments.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code , preferably including Ansible and ARM.
• Ability to work full-time from the client’s premises in Canberra.
• An AGSVA NV1 security clearance , as required for the position.

Desirable criteria

Experience mentoring team members is desirable.

Knowledge of the products in some of the following technology stack:

Azure Bicep, Terraform, HBase/HDFS (HDInsight), Neo4j, Kafka, NiFi, Kibana, Logstash, GraphQL, Redis, WSO2 Identity Server (or similar), WSO2 API Manager (or similar), PostgreSQL (or similar), React (or similar), Java springboot. Azure big data services, Azure AD/ADFS, Azure API Manager, Azure CosmosDB.
