Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking a Senior Cloud/DevOps Engineer to join our Canberra team. You will lead cloud development and infrastructure automation across Azure environments, contribute to design and implementation, and collaborate with development, operations, and stakeholders to ensure system reliability and performance.

You will build automated deployment pipelines, manage IaC (ARM/Ansible), and mentor engineers while supporting complex solutions onsite at the client.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated practical experience with cloud implementations.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure PROTECTED cloud environments.
• Experience with Elasticsearch.
• Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell.
• Experience troubleshooting Java applications in a Linux environment, or Java development experience.
• Experience creating and maintaining automated deployments.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, ARM).

You’ll be part of a cohesive team dedicated to one particular client, supporting a System of National Significance (SoNS). The role offers the opportunity to work across cloud engineering, infrastructure automation and application support, while collaborating closely with development, operations and other stakeholders. You’ll help ensure the reliability, availability and performance of systems and infrastructure, contribute to complex technical design, automate processes, and help improve overall system resilience. What you’ll do

• Produce reports, proposals and maintain clear project documentation.
• Mentor and coach engineers, encouraging knowledge sharing, skills development and the adoption of effective engineering practices.
• Work directly with the client onsite to understand and address complex solution requirements

Essential criteria

• Demonstrated practical experience and understanding of cloud implementations.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure PROTECTED cloud environments.
• Experience with Elasticsearch.
• Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell.
• Experience troubleshooting Java applications in a Linux environment, or Java development experience.
• Experience creating and maintaining automated deployments.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, preferably including Ansible and ARM.
• Ability to work full-time from the client’s premises in Canberra.
• An AGSVA NV1 security clearance, as required for the position.

Desirable criteria

Experience mentoring team members is desirable.

Knowledge of the products in some of the following technology stack: Azure Bicep, Terraform, HBase/HDFS (HDInsight), Neo4j, Kafka, NiFi, Kibana, Logstash, GraphQL, Redis, WSO2 Identity Server (or similar), WSO2 API Manager (or similar), PostgreSQL (or similar), React (or similar), Java springboot. Azure big data services, Azure AD/ADFS, Azure API Manager, Azure CosmosDB.
