Job summary

The Town of Gawler is currently seeking an experienced and motivated planner to join our Development Services team in a full-time, ongoing position. Depending on qualifications and experience, the successful candidate may be appointed up to Level 7 (Senior).

You will assess a diverse caseload, provide clear planning advice, conduct site inspections and contribute to timely, well-reasoned development outcomes within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma level qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning, Town Planning or related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in development assessment and statutory planning.
• Well-developed analytical, report writing and communication skills.
• Current SA driver's license and willingness to obtain National Criminal History Check.

Responsibilities

• Assess a diverse range of development applications in accordance with legislation and Planning and Design Code.
• Provide clear, practical planning advice to applicants, residents and developers.
• Undertake site inspections and identify information requirements or specialist input.
• Prepare high-quality assessment reports, recommendations and correspondence.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on complex matters.
