Job summary

The City of Wanneroo in Perth's northern corridor is seeking an experienced Statutory Planner to step into a newly created Senior Planner role within the Planning Services team. You will process development applications, subdivision referrals, structure plans and scheme amendments within statutory timeframes.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Urban and Regional Planning.
• Experience in a similar planning role is desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of planning legislation.
• Ability to analyse complex land use issues and priorities.
• Strong communication and collaborative work style.
• Advanced organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
• Strong report writing skills.
• C Class Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

• Process development applications and subdivision referrals within statutory timeframes.
• Process structure plans and scheme amendments within statutory timeframes.
• Prepare high-quality reports for Council, JDAP and DRP.
• Provide support to team members as required.
• Respond to customer queries in line with City values.
• Exercise delegation on planning applications per Delegated Authority Register.
• Guide and mentor planners and their workloads.
