Job summary

The Department of Education's Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) Corporate Services Division seeks a senior software professional to lead analysis, development and delivery of changes to a suite of custom applications used for assessments across Victoria (VCE, VET, VPC, NAPLAN).

You will work with a .NET stack including ASP.NET MVC, C#, web services, PowerShell, HTML5, CSS and JavaScript, with MS SQL Server or Oracle databases.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in information technology, computer science, software engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering ICT solutions with business and technical stakeholders and leading or supporting ICT projects.
• Experience supporting business-critical systems including incident response, change and release activities.
• Proven efficiency with .NET, ASP.NET MVC, C#, web services, PowerShell, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, MS SQL Server or Oracle and PL/SQL.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert analysis, programming and leadership of software changes for VCAA applications.
• Manage 1–2 small to medium IT development projects per year.
• Provide on-call support during critical business processing periods.
