Job summary

The Department of Education & Training, Victoria invites applications for a senior software developer who will lead and participate in changes to a suite of custom VCAA applications used to run assessments in Victoria. The role requires expertise in .NET technologies, databases and on‑call support.

You will collaborate with business and technical stakeholders, manage small IT projects, and help ensure reliable, secure digital services for VCE, VET, VPC and NAPLAN operations.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in information technology, computer science, software engineering or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven experience delivering ICT solutions in collaboration with business and technical stakeholders, leading or supporting small to medium ICT projects.
• Experience supporting business-critical systems, including incident response, change and release activities, and contributing to ICT strategy.
• Proven experience with .NET, ASP.NET MVC, C#, web services, Powershell, HTML5, CSS, Javascript, MS SQL Server or Oracle database and PL/SQL.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert analysis, programming and leadership of software changes to a suite of VCAA applications used to run assessments in Victoria.
• Manage 1–2 small to medium IT development projects per year.
• Provide on-call support during critical business processing periods.
