Job summary

The Department of Education & Training, Victoria, invites a senior ICT professional to join the Technology Platforms & Operations Unit. You will maintain and improve the hybrid‑cloud technology environment that underpins VCAA and related services, across data centre infrastructure, cloud platforms, end‑user computing and enterprise software.

Qualifications

• Essential: Demonstrated experience in a senior technical role supporting complex ICT infrastructure and technology environments, with strong systems administration, troubleshooting and problem‑solving capability.
• Experience providing technical advice, contributing to technology projects and working effectively with business and technology stakeholders.
• Desirable: Experience across hybrid‑cloud environments, Microsoft and/or AWS, VMware, Windows Server, Linux, end‑user computing or enterprise SaaS platforms.
• Desirable: Government or similarly complex environment experience including infrastructure operations, service management or technology improvement.
• A relevant tertiary qualification or professional certification in information technology or related discipline would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the technology environment underpinning VCAA's services across data centre, cloud, end‑user computing and enterprise software platforms.
• Provide technical support and advisory across VMware, Microsoft and AWS cloud services, Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Intune, MDM and enterprise SaaS platforms.
• Respond to escalated technical issues, lead infrastructure projects and support ongoing reliability and improvement of technology environment.
• Collaborate with other technology teams and business areas to ensure platforms are secure, reliable, fit for purpose and aligned with business needs.
• Share knowledge, mentor staff and contribute to development of standardized operational processes.
