Job summary

TheDriveGroup is seeking a Senior/Lead Developer in Sydney. This hybrid role requires strong Shopify and BigCommerce experience, plus a keen interest in AI to enhance development and eCommerce solutions. You will lead technical projects, collaborate with clients, and advance eCommerce performance through technology and AI.

Join a collaborative team and contribute to diverse eCommerce projects. Hybrid model with two in-office days per week in Sydney.

We are working with a leading eCommerce agency to find a Senior/Lead Developer to join their growing team.

We are looking for someone with strong Shopify and BigCommerce experience, solid development skills, and a genuine interest in AI and how it can improve modern development and eCommerce solutions.

What you’ll be doing

• Be the technical go-to for Shopify, BigCommerce and their wider eCommerce ecosystems.
• Build and maintain high-quality, scalable code using modern frameworks and development practices.
• Use AI tools such as Cursor, Claude and GitHub Copilot to improve development speed and quality.
• Lead key technical projects, work closely with clients, and identify opportunities to improve eCommerce performance through technology and AI.

What they’re looking for

• Strong Shopify and BigCommerce experience, including store builds, integrations and migrations.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools and the ability to assess AI-generated code for quality, security and maintainability.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Work across a range of exciting eCommerce projects.
• Play a key role in adopting AI across development and client solutions.
