Job summary

Jagex Limited is seeking a Senior Detection & Response Engineer to strengthen detection and incident response across studio and gaming environments. You will own escalated investigations, determine impact, and drive effective responses while building tooling, automation and runbooks.

You’ll work in a hybrid environment, collaborating with external SOC and internal teams to improve monitoring coverage and detections. On-call rotation is required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience investigating security incidents and developing hypotheses.
• Strong knowledge of SIEM and monitoring tooling for complex investigations.
• Understanding of MITRE ATT&CK principles and adversary TTPs.
• Experience applying detection/incident response across cloud, hybrid infra.
• Scripting knowledge (PowerShell or Python) is advantageous.
• Experience with Windows/macOS/Linux forensic investigations.

Responsibilities

• Lead investigations into escalated security events and incidents.
• Build and optimise detection rules, queries and monitoring logic across cloud, endpoint, network and application environments.
• Develop tooling and automation to improve telemetry, enrichment, workflows and response times.
• Conduct threat hunting using adversary behaviours and MITRE ATT&CK frameworks.
• Create and improve incident runbooks and detection processes from real investigations.
• Coordinate with external SOC and internal engineering teams to enhance coverage.
• This position will require participation in an on-call rotation.
