Job summary

CPP, a leading high-voltage infrastructure provider, is seeking a Senior Design Drafter - Primary to support design and construction of substations, wind farms and battery storage systems. You will prepare primary design drawings, collaborate with engineers and project managers, and help deliver safe, compliant outcomes on schedule.

You will gain exposure to CPP’s BIM and 3D modelling capabilities, with opportunities to grow skills in AutoCAD, MicroStation and Revit as requirements evolve.

Qualifications

• Relevant electrical, substation or primary design drafting experience
• Exposure to substations, renewable energy or comparable electrical infrastructure
• AutoCAD and/or MicroStation capability
• An ability to understand design intent and produce practical design outputs
• Knowledge of primary design drafting principles and fundamental electrical concepts
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
• Good communication, organisation and prioritisation skills
• A positive, practical approach and willingness to continue learning
• Experience with Revit, 3D modelling or BIM workflows will be highly regarded but is not essential. Candidates with AutoCAD experience will be considered, with opportunities to develop MicroStation and 3D capability on the job.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, high-quality primary design drawings and documentation
• Work with engineers, designers and Project Managers to resolve technical queries
• Ensure designs are safe, compliant and constructible to standards and deadlines
• Gain exposure to 3D modelling and BIM capability as requirements evolve
