Job summary

Amazon Web Services Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior Account Executive to join our ANZ Defence team, focused on the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and the broader national security ecosystem. This mission-first role aims to deeply understand Defence operations and work with Defence leaders to solve their hardest problems through cloud technology.

Applicants must be Australian citizens with AGSVA clearance or ability to obtain NV2+ clearance, and travel up to 50% of the time.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in or directly supporting Australia's Defence Organisation in uniform, APS, or embedded roles.
Ability to build trusted relationships with senior Defence leaders based on credibility and mission understanding.
Experience navigating Defence's organisational complexity and decision processes.
Experience translating complex customer problems into actionable cloud solutions for Defence.
Experience in Defence capability acquisition and sustainment.

Responsibilities

Develop deep understanding of Defence customers' missions, force structure, capability plans, and operational challenges.
Build trust-based relationships with military personnel and staff across capability, operations, and enabling functions.
Translate operational needs into cloud-enabled solutions while maintaining fidelity to the customer's intent.
Develop and execute multi-year account strategies aligned to Defence's capability development timelines.
Meet or exceed annual revenue targets while building the long-term strategic position that generates sustainable growth.
Work cross-functionally with Solutions Architects, Professional Services, Security & Compliance specialists, and Partner teams.
Navigate Defence procurement pathways and ensure proposed solutions account for classification requirements and ASD certification pathways.
Maintain awareness of Australia's defence policy environment including National Defence Strategy and Integrated Investment Program.
