Job summary

Hudson is partnering with a Queensland Government agency to recruit a Senior Data Migration Engineer to lead the migration of complex legacy data into Microsoft Dataverse as part of a major digital transformation. The role is hands-on, requiring strong SQL skills and extensive experience with enterprise data migrations.

You will design, build and test repeatable data migration pipelines, work with architects and stakeholders, and ensure secure, accurate data transfer.

Qualifications

• Significant experience delivering complex data migrations in enterprise environments.
• Proven experience migrating data into Microsoft Dataverse, Dynamics 365, Power Platform or comparable enterprise SaaS platforms.
• Strong SQL skills across data profiling, extraction, transformation, validation, reconciliation and troubleshooting.
• Solid understanding of Dataverse data structures, relationships, lookups, alternate keys, security and data loading dependencies.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft data and cloud technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform dataflows, Power Query and Azure SQL.
• Experience building automated, repeatable and auditable migration processes.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps or equivalent tools for source control, backlog management, defect tracking and deployment.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments and supporting multiple migration and testing cycles.
• Ability to design, implement, and maintain data models to support business intelligence and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain repeatable data migration pipelines, scripts, dataflows and load processes.
• Extract, profile, cleanse, transform and migrate data from SQL-based source systems into Microsoft Dataverse.
• Implement source-to-target mappings, validation rules, reconciliation checks and exception reporting.
• Manage Dataverse-specific migration complexities, including relationships, lookups, alternate keys, ownership and data dependencies.
• Execute test migrations, mock loads, performance tuning, defect resolution and production cutover activities.
• Develop automated processes with appropriate logging, error handling, retry logic and audit trails.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to validate data quality, resolve issues and confirm migration readiness.
• Contribute to migration documentation, technical standards, runbooks and operational handover.
