Job summary

The Queensland Government department is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead a major data platform transformation. You will design and implement scalable data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric, Dynamics 365 and Azure to support reporting, analytics and data migration.

The role offers a 12-month contract with potential extension and a hybrid work arrangement: three days in the office and two from home.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience across pipelines, lakehouses, warehouses, and medallion architecture.
• Proven SQL skills with ETL/ELT pipelines and data transformations.
• Experience with Dynamics 365, Dataverse, Power Platform or comparable enterprise data environments.

Responsibilities

• Create reusable data products and support data migration efforts.
• Collaborate across teams in a hybrid work model (3 days in-office, 2 from home).

Working across Microsoft Fabric, Dynamics 365 and Azure, you’ll design and build scalable data pipelines, transformations and reusable data products to support reporting, analytics and data migration.

Key Requirements

• Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including pipelines, lakehouses, warehouses and medallion architecture.
• Proven experience building ETL/ELT pipelines, data transformations and curated data products, supported by strong SQL skills.
• Experience with Dynamics 365, Dataverse, Power Platform or comparable enterprise data environments.

This role is offered as an initial 12 month contract with the potential to extend for a further 6 months. Hybrid work environment offered is 3 days in the office and 2 from home.
