Job summary

Westpac Group is seeking a Data Scientist for the Group Audit Data Centre of Excellence. This hands-on role focuses on delivering production-grade analytics and AI solutions to identify risks and improve controls within the audit function.

The successful candidate will work with Python, SQL, Alteryx, and Copilot Studio, contributing to the analytics roadmap while collaborating with Technology, Risk and Compliance teams in a hybrid Sydney-based setting.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ practical data science experience, ideally in financial services or risk environments.
• Hands‑on experience applying ML/AI, Generative AI, automation to business problems.
• Strong Python and SQL with complex structured and unstructured data.
