Job summary

Chandler Macleod is recruiting for a Senior Data Technician to provide technical leadership in workforce modelling, forecasting and analytics. You will design, develop and improve modelling solutions, turning complex policy and operational data into practical tools for decision-making.

The role mentors the team, sets technical standards and collaborates with stakeholders across government agencies. The assignment supports Australian workforce reform efforts with a defined end date and multiple

Qualifications

• Strong experience in data, analytics, workforce modelling, forecasting or similar technical field.
• Advanced technical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience designing, developing and maintaining analytical or modelling solutions.
• Strong systems thinking; turn complex problems into practical solutions.
• Experience with Microsoft tools and enterprise technology.
• Experience with technical documentation, testing, quality assurance and governance.
• Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience mentoring, coaching or supporting other team members.
• Ability to work effectively in a changing environment and develop creative technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain workforce modelling, forecasting and analytical solutions.
• Turn complex workforce, policy and operational issues into practical and reliable technical solutions.
• Use Microsoft and other approved technology to develop modelling and analytical tools.
• Apply strong technical, development and problem-solving skills to complex projects.
• Develop and maintain technical standards, documentation, testing and QA processes.
• Ensure modelling and analytical products are accurate, reliable, transparent and easy to maintain.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to team members.
• Share knowledge and help build the technical and analytical skills of the team.
• Develop reusable solutions and consistent modelling practices.
• Work with stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver practical outcomes.
• Identify and manage risks within their area of responsibility.
